Worship and Music

The Seminary Chapel is the heart of our campus and we hope that it becomes a spiritual home for you.

Worship is central to the life of the Seminary. When classes are in session, daily services are held in Seminary Chapel at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Sunday services are not held on the Seminary campus, as students are encouraged to connect to the ministry and worship life of local congregations.

Students also organize weekly prayer services on campus and in the student apartments. Special services, lectures, and liturgical concerts are held throughout the year and are sponsored by both the chapel office and student organizations.

Music expresses the essence of our community. From this center we explore the rich heritages of our global and ecumenical community. Worship is rooted in the Reformed tradition, but embraces worship styles and music from the breadth of the Christian tradition. If you sing, dance, or play an instrument, the Chapel Office Team can help you find your place in the Seminary choir or other musical groups.

John Huh, the Bryant M. Kirkland Dean of the Chapel and Vice President for Student Life, oversees the Chapel Office Team:

Martin Tel, Director of Music

Melissa Haupt, Assistant Director of Worship

Mina Choi, Coordinator of Worship and Music

Elizabeth Lorenzo-Ramos, Office Assistant

Melissa Haupt coordinates the worship life of the Seminary and is also available for pastoral care and support, including prayer in times of need, and conversation about spiritual reflection and vocational discernment. Martin Tel facilitates the music ministry for daily worship, directs the campus choirs, and lectures in the area of church music. Mina Choi supports the worship and music life of the Seminary by accompanying the choir and directing small ensembles. She is also available for pastoral care and support.
